➢ December 30, 1896 – Jose Rizal was executed by firing squad (Filipino infantry of the Spanish Army) in Bagumbayan after a farce trial by the Spanish authorities. His last words were “It is finished”, same as Christ did. He was buried secretly in an unmarked grave in Paco cemetery later, but his sister Narcisa coerced the sepulcher caretaker to mark the grave RPJ.
